Susana Sanroman is a female artist seeking to create a dialogue between the viewer and the artwork through the inclusion of women’s perspective. We can appreciate this at ‘East of Eden’, a video-art piece produced by her in India that will be present as part of the #51% RememberHer Exhibition, which will be open in Plaistow (East London) on International Women’s day.

Olmo Blanco’s drawings transform everyday contexts. Geometrical patterns cover walls, floors and the most common objects. His works are based on the ephemeral, in the persistent repetition of simple figures that turn into a kind of mantra, into a memory of our most recent archaeology. This is the first time that Olmo visits Edinburgh.
I spent last week in the Highlands. Our first stop was Mull; the island, inhospitable, even in the middle of August, it only has one way roads. This way the voyage turns into a slow pilgrimage, in which we must stop every few minutes to yield the way, every time we do so, we say hello to the drivers we come across, remembering those old habits we used to have when the conversation with other walkers was part of the journey. That greeting is a sign that life here flows slowly, that it has come to a halt in a moment that we will never belong to.
