It has been specifically designed to be compatible with many different brands of tablets and computers. Last 6th of April he has launched a crowdfunding campaign to cope the production of this new product and have it ready for shipping for November 2016.

Oscar Diaz is an industrial designer from Leon (Spain) based in London, graduated in 2006 at the Royal College of Art. Upon graduation he designed products and installations for clients such as Hermès, MUJI or Veuve Clicquothe and worked briefly at the Oribe Design Centre in Japan before returning to London to set up his own studio, Oscar Diaz Studio, in 2007. Also he lectures regularly in design and has led design talks and workshops at the Royal College of Art (UK), ECAL (CH), FA ČVUT (CZ) EBABX (FR), ADIF-FAD (ES), Brunel University (UK), Middlesex University (UK) and Kun Shan University (TW).

His work is not defined by a style, but rather by a way of understanding, exploring and questioning objects, while considering their context and the cultural associations embedded into them. Plain and playful, the objects he designs take inspiration from the everyday things, which by a simple twist become something unexpected. As a talented Spanish designer based in the UK, we would like to help him to share this crowdfunding campaign because is the only way that they will be able to order the minimum quantities to make the product affordable.

What is Pixo?
Pixo is a tablet mount that connects your tablet to your computer so you can use it as a second display. It has been designed to be compatible with a wide range of tablet sizes and desktop computer screens. Because off its magnetic attachment, Pixo can be used with a wide range of tablet brands and sizes and it is the first display mount to work also with the 12.9” iPad pro, allowing you for example, to increase by 60% your working screen size if you use it with a regular 21.5” display ( the most commonly used display size).

Pixo can be used by itself by simply mounting your tablet next to your computer as a second display, or sync the screen with a third-part app if you prefer to share your screen content across devices ( Duet Display, Air Display, or iDisplay apps do the trick). Those apps already available on the market, work for both Mac and Pc’s running MacOSX/iOS or Windows/Android operating systems. Pixo allows you to add more pixels to your screen.

Why Pixo?
Tablets give us the freedom to work anywhere. We often use them for reading or sending e-mails on the go, but when at the office or at home, in from of our desktop computers, we put them aside as is always more comfortable to work using a large display.

You already have a second display, why not to use it? Most tablets have good quality displays, with a very high resolution, but they are often underused. We use either a desktop display or a tablet depending on the context, but never together.

Pixo allows you to use your tablet not just as a tablet but also as an extension of your desktop monitor. You may have an old generation iPad laying around, or a brand new tablet that you don’t use as much when you are working at your desk. Pixo can connect it to your desktop so you can use it as an extension of your current display.
