We are very proud to announce the upcoming screening in London of ‘OUT’, a short film directed and written by Gsus López.

The film will be part of the programme of CORTOMETRAJES, 7 Brit Es Short Films, a Shorts On Tap‘s screening in collaboration with Brit Es Magazine.

Brit Es’s concept defines the people, projects, trends and cultural offerings in the UK that have a Spanish quality or origin but are also influenced by and inseparable from British culture. Both platforms has been working together to create this event and choose an outstanding selection of seven ‘Brit Es’ short films.

‘OUT’ is a dramatic comedy / LGBTQ short film and it’s his biggest production to date thanks to a successful crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter. It is currently in the international festival circuit having been shown in over 10 festivals so far and scooped two nominations for the Dorothy Slipper Award at Merlinka International Queer Film Festival in Belgrade (Serbia) and the European Short Film Award at the Festival de Cine de Alicante in Spain (GOYA awards qualifying).

Gsus Lopez is an independent film writer-director based in London. He has had a distinctive success in the fashion film genre; always narrative, stylish, very original with a hint of surrealism and a peculiar sense of humor, Gsus’ fashion films (Ephemeral Nature, I’m in Love, It Melts x Pigeons & Peacocks magazine) have got him international recognition by scooping the Grand Prix ASVOFF Barcelona 2012 for Best Film and nominations at Berlin and Madrid Fashion Film Festivals to name a few.

In February 2015, Gsus was selected from over 2,500 applicants from more than 170 countires as a BERLINALE TALENT 2015 during the 65th Berlinale – Berlin International Film Festival.

He was raised in Spain and has resettled to England since 2010 where he completed a BA (Hons) in Media Studies at University of the Arts London in 2014. Gsus is currently writing and developing his first feature film script.
