15th Anniversary of the ‘Flamenco Festival London’ at Sadler’s Wells

Flamenco Festival London, Sadler’s Wells’ renowned annual season of flamenco dance and music returns. In a fortnight featuring 12 unique shows and film screenings, audiences will be able to enjoy performances from some of the world’s most outstanding flamenco talent.


This year is the 15th anniversary of this fantastic annual season of flamenco at Sadler’s Well, the programme highlights includes:

Carmen Linares, Arcángel & Marina Heredia. Wed 14 Feb

Featuring the leading voices in Spain today, revered singer Carmen Linares and brilliant rising stars Arcangel and Marina Heredia perform with Miguel A. Cortes, Bolita and Paquito González, demonstrating the passion of flamenco from its gypsy roots through to its modern innovations, accompanied by the outstanding dancer Ana Morales.

María Pagés Compañía Thu 15 – Sat 17

María Pagés searches for the woman behind the femme fatale of Prosper Mérimée’s novel, a character appropriated by so many generations of men. Alongside 14 flamenco artists she delves into the feelings of real women, as she declares that is time for a woman’s voice to talk about women.

Gala Flamenca La Chana — Guest Artists: Antonio Canales, Farru, Gema Moneo 21 – 23 Feb

Four champions of flamenco puro come together in a homage to La Chana. Ángel Rojas directs Antonio Canales, El Farru, Gema Moneo and, in a rare appearance, the “sorceress” (New York Times), La Chana herself.

 Compañía Rafaela Carrasco — Born a Shadow 25 Feb

Flamenco and the lives of female artists from the Spanish Golden Age combine in this show inspired by the hidden voices of Teresa de Jesús, María de Zayas, María Calderon and Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. Using flamenco rhythms, Rafaela Carrasco finds a way for these women to speak through the centuries.
